Infrastructure :

The Rayon plant started production with 24 machines having installed capacity of 7 M.T. per day in 1959. A second plant of another 24 spinning machines was added in the year 1962 and further 4 such machines in 1976. Currently we have 52 spinning machines with installed capacity of 6500 M.T. per annum.

The auxiliary units of Sulphuric acid and Carbon-di-sulphide to cater the demand for captive consumption, were also added in 1961.

When the world witnessed any innovation in the rayon manufacturing process, Kesoram Rayon was quick to adopt the same. This has become an integral part of the company’s modernisation programme.

Rayon Family

The plant provides direct employment to nearly 2700 workers and 300 supervisory staff.

The company cares for its employees in particular and community in general. To provide perfect living and conducive environment, the Company provides a well planned staff and workmen’s housing colony. The sprawling self-sufficient complex includes Guest House, Recreation Centre, Co-operative Consumer Stores, Co-operative Credit Society, Dispensary, School, Temple and Auditorium.

Amid the bustle of get-togethers, entertainment and welfare programmes, relationships grow, life prospers, families draw closer to self-reliance and prosperity with each new day.

Horticulture

A major thrust is given on tree plantation. The Company has developed and maintained beautiful gardens bedecked with multi-coloured flower beds, expansive lawns, rock garden as well as rivulets.

Tree plantation is undertaken in and around the campus every year, to the tune of 2000 new saplings of Acacia, Nilgiri, Deodar, Gulmohar. The nursery cultivates, develops and grooms the seedlings/saplings which subsequently becomes a sight of joy.

The residential complex with such breath-taking beauty and picturesque location has not only earned a rich pride in the heart of employees, but also made a name for itself in and around Calcutta. During winter months as well as holidays, groups of visitors often vie for a few hours of sojourn. Kesoram Rayon’s residential complex is one of the much sought after locale of many firm shootings.
